PCYBL will once again offer our very successful Summer/Fall Rookie Pirates program for players age 6-8.  

This Summer/Fall Rookies Pirates league runs similarly to the In-house PCYBL spring rookies division, in that we will have a once-a-week clinic on Wednesday nights (6pm start) run by professional coaches (with the help of parent coaches) and then we will have coach-pitch games on Saturdays between teams. Clinics and games will be held at local Port Chester fields…Lyon Park and other local fields if necessary.

Current PCYBL inhouse participants do not need to be evaluated.  Only new participants will have to be evaluated.  This is not a tryout, but for our league to evaluate skill level to make fairly balanced teams.  A date and time will be announced after registration.

Dates for Summer Rookie Pirates
The program will run for 6 weeks of clinic instruction and games between June 22 and July 27, with playoffs to follow during the last days of July and first days of August, as we aim to crown a league champion.

Each player will receive a uniform shirt, returning in-house players will use their current hat.  Only new players, that did not participate in-house will receive a hat. The cost for the Fall Rookie Pirates program will be $150 per player (or $250 per player if you sign up for both Summer and Fall Rookie Pirates).

This program will be available to all players who were of rookies age in the spring (6, 7, 8 year old). Additionally, we are including those players who were 5 years old in our tee ball division in spring and will be moving up to rookies next spring season.
This will allow these rising 6-year old players entering rookies next spring to gain instruction and to become familiar with rookies-level gameplay.

As with our in-house season, the key to success is parent-coach involvement. Please consider to sign up as a coach to help the kids get the most instruction and enjoyment out of the program. During clinics, coaches will be educated in detail from the professional coaches how to run drills and stations. During game-play on weekends, coaches and PCYBL board members can be leaned for guidance as needed.

Dates for Fall Rookie Pirates
The program will run for 6 weeks of clinic instruction and games starting Wednesday, September 4th, first game will be held on Saturday, September 7th, with playoffs/finals on Saturday, October 12th.
New players that did not participate in 2024 in-House or Summer Pirates will receive a uniform shirt and hat. The cost for the Fall Rookie Pirates program will be $150 per player.

While we are all gearing up for PCYBL's opening day in-house games for Saturday, April 13th...we must also prepare for our flagship summer Pirates travel season.

We are exited to announce that travel team tryouts for our Summer Pirates travel teams will be taking place very soon.

Tryouts will be held on Saturday April 27th:

Check in time is 4:45pm for a 5pm start

- 5-6pm for those players ages 10, 11 & 12

Check in time is 5:45pm for a 6pm start

- 6-7pm for those players ages 7, 8, and 9

 For those who cannot attend on Saturday 4/27 , we will have a make-up for all ages Monday,  April 29th, check in at 4:45pm, 5pm start time.

- The cost for the Pirates Summer Travel Program is $375 (includes uniforms, league games, and entrance into July away tournament)

- Cost for Tryouts: $0 (no cost)

Port Chester Pirates summer travel baseball:

Augmenting our successful in-house baseball season, the Summer travel Pirates program allows any baseball player who seeks another level of baseball to participate in our travel league offering. Those players between the ages of 7 and 12 who sign up and participate in the Pirates summer travel program will gain an enormous amount of instruction, practice, and game play…representing their community and peers on the diamond. Teams form in mid-May, and summer travel games begin in early June. For most of June and July, the Pirates travel teams play against teams in league GHVBL (Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League) games from local towns. Teams will have a couple of practices and couple of games each week. 

The summer Pirates experience peaks with a weekend tournament trip in mid-July (usually to central NJ), taking the baseball teams together for a weekend away for fun and baseball.

The GHVBL playoffs conclude in late July, wrapping up summer baseball by the first week in August.

The PCYBL hosts a Summer Pirates BBQ each year, normally at Oakland Beach pavilion in Rye (near Playland), where we celebrate another fun season of Summer Pirates baseball.

All players from our community and surrounding towns (Port Chester, Rye Brook, Greenwich, Rye) are encouraged to try out.
